Oekaki BBS

What is an oekaki BBS/oekaki board?
Well, to make it simple, it's a drawing board. You draw a picture on this applet and send it to the board. When you send it, you comment on your drawing, telling us what it is, etc. Other people all over the 'net can see it, and they too can comment on it, tell you how they like it, etc. No, you don't need to download anything... except Java, I think. Oekaki boards only work on Internet Explorer, from my experience. (^^);; Oh well, you can always comment.

First of all, before entering, there are certain rules to follow...:
1. No text/word only pictures. They take up space for no reason and there is no effort in that.
2. You can draw anything you like, so long that it's suitable for younger kids. That means no hentai!!
3. Shounen/shoujo-ai accepted, but keep it minimal, 'cause small kids can see the oekaki XD;;
4. You can draw Anime or realistic, no problem there!
5. Take pride in your work and don't put yourself down. Don't criticize your own drawings.
6. Don't criticize other people's drawings. That is totally rude and unacceptable!! Nice comments and constuctive criticism only!
7. Take at least 7 minutes or more on a drawing. It's better to spend time on your drawings so they look better.
8. You are allowed to draw 5 pictures per day. Make sure that they are not all consecutive either! That's annoying!
9. Say something relevant to the drawing. Don't just post something like "hey you know what i did today?" That is totally inacceptable.
10. NO ADVERTISEMENT ON OTHER PEOPLE'S PICTURES!! This is so annoying!! Quit inviting people to your oekaki boards!! They'll come if they want!! Don't ask people to come! (@_@); If you want to do that, draw your own pic. Even then, I don't want you to do that, but you're allowed (>_<);
11. Post irrelevant comments on your drawings only. If you have a story to tell, then you can tell it on your own drawing. If someone has something relevant to say about your story, that's okay too, just make sure that you say something about the picture.
12. Under no circumstances are you allowed to copy anyone's artwork. If you copy something like a drawing from CLAMP or from a manga, or TV show... that's pretty much okay with me. But if you copy someone elses artwork... that I really despise. At least give the artist credit! (Copying a photograph or picture from a magazine is acceptable)
13. Don't make comments like: "kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or "thats cute". Make a nice, constructive comment. If you make a comment with a word streeeeeeeeeetched out like above, well, it stretches the oekaki width-wise and it looks strange, well, maybe not, but it's just a little disturbing to me. (^^);; As for a short, simple comment like "thats cute"... be a little more creative! It's well, boring, and too short. Say something else, like: "its cute i like the way you did the eyes" And then go into more detail, etc. (^^);
14. Have fun!!

Proceed to the oekaki board!

AND... if you want to enter the second oekaki board (which has a new option: continue your pics if your not done!) you have more rules to read. Add these to the ones you already read above!! Here goes...:
12. When you use the continue option, try to save it over the first one you did until it's done... It saves space. (save as another picture: 1st option......save over: 2nd option[in the drop down menu when you choose continue]) Please do this unless your drawing is going off the board.
13. Please remember that if you have saved your drawing on a different slot, the old one will probably be deleted to save space.
14. PLEASE do NOT think that this means you have to keep saving incomplete drawings. People do get sick and tired of seeing unfinished work. The continue option is really only for those people that absolutely cannot finish their work.
15. Try to send only one unfinished picture at a time. If you feel like drawing something else, do make sure that you don't have too many drawings that you are not done yet... it gets really annoying. Try finishing your old artwork before starting something new. (haha I'm not one to talk XP)
16. Contests... one at a time!! And ones about coloring other peoples drawings/editing them/whatever ARE allowed... just keep them at a low number... (^^);; It's annoying seeing the same picture 5 times.
17. UPLOAD ONLY YOUR OWN DRAWINGS!! I will delete ANY art that is not rightfully yours. It's plagerism! It's especially wrong if you didn't ask permission to use it, and even if you did, I don't want to see it here please.
18. If you use someone else's line art and color it on oekaki.... weeell, I would rather not see it, UNLESS it was a collab pic, then that's perfectly okay. Just give the credit to the people who did it with you.
19. You may upload any form of your art. CGs, pencil drawings, and oekakies you drew at other boards are gladfully accepted :D
